Is Black the new Puritan?
According to Time:
African-Americans, 70% of whom voted yes on Proposition 8, according to a CNN exit poll, have become a target [of Proposition 8 critics].
So, what, only 30% of African American California voters actually remember a time when Christians used the Bible to argue that God forbade whites from marrying blacks (even though God clearly had no problem with interracial marriages such as, for example, Irish marrying Italians)?
Not to sound racist here, but what’s that line about learning from history? Especially when it applies to you personally?
Oh, wait, I’m sorry. The entire nation is too busy not learning from the lessons of Vietnam to notice. My bad.
